The Gut-Genome Connection: Why You Must Look at Both

Gut Health

Your gut and your genes are in constant conversation.

When one is off, the other struggles. When both are off? That's when you feel like a stranger in your own body.

Your microbiome affects how your genes express themselves (yes, epigenetics is real), and your genes affect how well your gut functions — including how you digest food, clear toxins, regulate hormones, and produce brain chemicals like serotonin (the one that makes you feel happy).

If you've tried all the right diets but still feel inflamed, tired, anxious, or just plain stuck... it's time to zoom out. I look at both the GI-MAP and the 3x4 genetics report for my clients because they paint the full picture together.

It’s not one or the other. It’s both. And that’s where the magic happens.
